Following a rigorous process AfriSky Consortium was recently announced as the successful bidder to develop and manage the proposed FS MACAH. A request for expression of interest (REOI) in this innovative and groundbreaking project was issued on 6 September 2017. Nine interested companies subsequently attended a briefing session facilitated by the MACAH Foundation on 9 November 2017. Written concept proposals were then submitted to an independent selection committee (ISC) who shortlisted three companies to present their full proposal in person to the MACAH ISC.
AfriSky Consortium is made up of AfriSky Holdings (Pty) Ltd and Healthshare Health Solutions. AfriSky Holdings is a leader in hospital equipment procurement, commissioning and maintenance while Healthshare is an established hospital operator and hospital development company. With their combined expertise the new private, free-standing tertiary mother and child hospital in Bloemfontein will surely soon be a reality.
This model, if fine-tuned and implemented, can be a blueprint for other tertiary institutions.
