Bringing world-class mother, infant & child healthcare
to Central South Africa

About us

The Mother and Child Academic Hospital (MACAH) Foundation was established in January 2017 in Bloemfontein. The Mother and Child Academic Hospital Foundation strives to bring much needed world-class healthcare to mothers and children in the heart of South Africa. The Foundation’s main vision is to become a significant and dynamic entity and role player in the mother, infant and child healthcare environment of Central South Africa.

Why

do we exist?

To lay a solid foundation for a better future for mothers, infants and children in Central South Africa.

How

will we attain our purpose?

Through a collaborative approach with like-minded stakeholders (based on genuine care), which will include pooling of skills and resources to help bridge the healthcare gap that currently exists in this area of the country.

What

will we offer?

The MACAH foundation will be a sustainable vehicle, which will raise funds in support of maternal and paediatric needs/services, as well as supporting academic excellence for medical professionals. Beyond interim priority initiatives, we ultimately aim to pioneer the first dedicated mother and child academic hospital serving Central South Africa.

It's all about care...

Without proper antenatal care, fortified nutrition and development stimulation in this time, children spend their whole lives fighting to survive.
